A folding electric wheelchair should fit the rider and the loading plan. Compare the current configuration rather than relying on a historical “lightweight” model name, an old weight figure or a promise that every trunk will fit.
Start with the current YS12 model
The YS12-15 PLUS product page is the reference for the current offer. Check its complete weight, usable seat width, rated capacity, battery and folded dimensions. Historical YS12-15 specifications should not be assumed to apply to the PLUS configuration.
Compare seat fit before portability
Measure the usable seat space needed by the rider and review control reach, foot support and entry/exit needs. Rated capacity is only one constraint. If you need a wider seat, compare the YS16-1 MAX 20Ah, which lists a 22.05-inch usable seat and 400 lb rated support. It weighs approximately 114 lb / 52 kg with battery, so the larger-seat option also needs a different loading plan.
Questions for a folding-chair comparison
| Check | Decision |
|---|---|
| Complete weight and heaviest lifted part | Can suitable assistance or loading equipment be arranged for every trip? |
| Folded shape and vehicle opening | Does the actual configuration fit with room for safe handling? |
| Doorways and turns | Do the operating dimensions fit the daily route? |
| Battery and rated range | Is there sufficient margin for the return trip under real conditions? |
| Support terms | Are coverage, return condition and costs understood? |
Travel claims need documentation
Folding does not establish airline acceptance, carry-on status or a particular fee exemption. Ask the carrier about the exact battery and handling requirements. Do not assume automatic folding, zero turning radius or suitability for rough trails unless the model documentation supports it.
Choose a documented fit
Compare the wheelchair collection, use the Fit Check, and consult the current limited warranty and return conditions. Prices and availability belong on the live product page. No testimonial, fixed folding-time test or unverified dealer service is claimed here.
