A search for a "24-inch electric wheelchair" can refer to the usable seat width, the overall chair width, or even a wheel size. These are different measurements. Confirm which dimension is listed before deciding whether a chair fits your body or your home.
The current Anywell YS16-1 MAX has a 22.05 in usable seat and 400 lb rated support. It should not be described as a 24-inch-seat wheelchair. If your assessment calls for a 24-inch usable seat, do not treat 22.05 inches as equivalent; compare an appropriately sized model with your mobility professional.
Seat width and doorway width answer different questions
| Measurement | What to check |
|---|---|
| Usable seat width | The sitting space available between the relevant seat or arm-support boundaries. |
| Overall chair width | The widest operating dimension, including wheels and other protruding parts; use this when checking a doorway. |
| Seat depth and foot support | Thigh support, space behind the knees, and whether both feet can rest securely on the supports. |
| Folded dimensions and weight | Storage space and the ramp, lift, or assistance needed for vehicle loading. |
Measure the narrowest clear doorway opening with the door in its normal open position. Also check the approach, turns, threshold, and space beyond the doorway. Seat width alone cannot establish doorway clearance. Use the Anywell Fit Check to organize your measurements and questions.
Compare the current Anywell wide-seat options
The heavy-duty electric wheelchair collection compares the two YS16-1 MAX battery options. Both have a 22.05 in usable seat and 400 lb rated support. Choose the battery option after checking fit, your daily route, charging access, and loading plan.
| Model | Battery | Rated range | Purchase details |
|---|---|---|---|
| YS16-1 MAX 12Ah | 24V 12Ah lead-acid | Up to 15 miles under suitable conditions | Check YS16-1 MAX 12Ah specifications and current price |
| YS16-1 MAX 20Ah | 24V 20Ah lead-acid | Up to 20 miles under suitable conditions | Compare the 20Ah battery option |
Rated range is not a guaranteed daily distance. Rider weight, surface, slopes, temperature, tire condition, and battery condition can change the result. Allow a margin for your return trip and follow the owner's manual.
Folding does not mean easy one-person lifting
The YS16-1 MAX folds for storage, but its weight still matters when loading a vehicle. The current 12Ah specification is approximately 103.62 lb with battery; the 20Ah specification is approximately 114 lb with battery. Plan assisted lifting or ramp loading, and check the exact model's folded dimensions against the vehicle. Do not assume a folding wheelchair is suitable for airline travel or a car trunk without checking the relevant requirements.
Check support and return terms before ordering
Anywell's current warranty policy provides a two-year limited warranty from delivery for eligible vehicles. It is not a lifetime warranty or a promise of free in-home repairs.
The return policy allows a request within 60 days of delivery subject to its conditions, including unused or indoor-tested condition and original packaging. Change-of-mind returns require buyer-paid return freight and a 20% restocking fee; defective, damaged, or incorrect items follow the seller-paid freight and no-restocking provisions of that policy. Read the current policy before purchase.
Before you choose

- Check the chair's overall dimensions against your doorway and turning space.
- Match the published rated support to the intended use and follow the manual.
- Plan charging, storage, and vehicle loading.
- Review the current product specifications, price, warranty, and returns.
For catalog or measurement questions, contact Anywell support. A product comparison cannot replace an individual clinical seating or transfer assessment.
